Appel a Contributions / Call for Papers

The first International Bagpipe Day, a celebration of the world’s bagpipes and bagpiping traditions. will be hosted by the School of Oriental and African Studies in central London, supported by the SOAS music department and by the Bagpipe Society on 10th March 2012. Bagpipe specialists from all over Europe will come to exchange knowledge of their instruments, music and culture. The conference will include an evening concert and a dance in the Brunei Gallery, featuring bagpipe and folk groups who are active in Britain. Papers that have a direct link to bagpipes will be considered. The deadline is 15th December 2011.
